A have a life/career coaching client who is going through a big transition: planning to leave her corporate job and pursue more mission based work in alignment with who she is and how she wants to be spending her time. She has done it all right. Clarified her values, mapped out her priorities, gathered support from family and friends, and made a plan with a doable time frame. And in order to make this big change sustainable, she is taking small steps towards her bigger milestones.

As she was gaining clarity about what she really, truly wanted, she created something she called “tiny little missions.” These were commitments that she could keep even while she was still driving everyday to a job that she hated and that was toxic for her. They were little lifelines to her soul that helped her connect to her inner voice. They gave her the nourishment she needed to face her fears and make very important decisions about what she needed to do to get unstuck and change the course of her own life.

“Great things are not done by impulse but by a series of small things brought together.” Van Gogh

If you are feeling lost, stuck or confused, try out “tiny little missions.” Give yourself small, doable assignments that bring you back to life. Keep them simple. Keep them enjoyable. If you have some tiny mission ideas, please leave a comment and share what you will do!
